Sailing Profile
My interest in sailing started at a young age when introduced to my family’s Westerly and was able to participate in day sails in the Western Isles of Scotland. To continue sailing locally, I purchased a Topper dinghy and used it in local inshore waters gaining basic dinghy sailing certification. After a successful career in the City I elected to pursue my ambition of combining my skills obtained in that environment with my love of sailing. Therefore, since moving to Cowes and leaving the City environment, I am now committed working exclusively back within the marine industry. I have skippered and completed three Fastnet races comprising of 2003, 2007 (where only a handful of boats finished the race) when we finished 2nd in class and more recently 2009. I have a total of approximately 20,000 inshore, offshore and ocean miles sailed which has been comprised of skippering, instructing, deliveries and offshore racing.
I am pleased to detail below my qualifications, all which have been gained at highly accredited UK Sailing schools.
